This week I got to thinking why do I even blog? I'm not making money from this. I'm not a fashionista that always has a photographer on hand to photograph me frolicking through grassy fields. I don't have a different daily recipe that I simply must share with you, as noted by the chocolate covered cherries I'm currently eating for breakfast.
But then it hit me...
I blog to share the things I love and find inspiration from others.
I blog to connect with people I otherwise wouldn't encounter in my daily life and to gain a greater perspective of the world. I'm especially grateful for all the fellow moms I've met over the past seven months because sometimes I feel alone.
And when my real life best friend Brea said to me recently that she felt like we were all caught up because she'd been reading my blog, it confirmed that I blog to keep in touch with those I may not see or talk to everyday.
As my friends Kelly and Shanna recently reminded me, mainly I blog to preserve memories of my life and my family. After all, my blog name pays homage to the address of the building where my husband and I first met and started our journey together. My little blog is my place to capture those moments that I can later look back upon and say "oh yeah, that's what we were doing when Jacob was seven months old" or "what the heck was I thinking?"
If I take a day or two (or three in this case) off from posting, does anyone care? That was somewhat rhetorical. I know you'll miss me on my off days, just be happy knowing that I'm out doing something fun. Probably with this guy.
'Til next time...whenever that may be.
