But of course, I make this statement only after this happened:
|I didn't spend money. |
I used gift cards I had saved up from my birthday and Mother's Day.
Last summer I was pregnant. Last summer I thought we were moving. Last summer I packed up all my "regular" sized clothing and put the boxes in storage. We still have yet to move and my clothes are still packed up in storage. To be honest, I can't even tell you what's in there.
Rather than being forced to wear my pre-pregnancy wardrobe, I've simply been buying more clothes. The problem is I want to be able to lose those last few pregnancy pounds that came off easily at first, but slowly have been creeping back on. If I was forced to fit into the clothes I have, trust me, those pounds would stay off. So I'm picking up those boxes ASAP.
Reason #1 for not buying anything new: lose that baby weight!

Flat stomach, I see you, but you've since gone astray.
You will be mine again soon.
Sorry, Stella & Dot. You won't see me buy anything new. Of course I'll still host parties to sell the heck out of you.
Sorry, UPS/FedEx delivery guys. You won't be dropping off packages 2-4 times per week.
And if you're a store (cough-NordstromAnthropologieTargetH&M-cough), feel free to send me stuff for free. Seriously, anything. I'll take it. You too, independent clothing and jewelry boutique owners. I'll take whatever you want to give me. Help a mother out!
In sum: I will lose weight, I will fit back into my clothes and I will have saved a lot of money in one month's time. You can hold me to that.
It's just going to be really hard when I make my weekly trip to Target for baby supplies. I will use the advice that my friend Kelly gave me:
